YouTube web login bug blocks some users as Google investigates

Some YouTube users cannot sign in on web browsers while their Google accounts work elsewhere. Google has not explained the cause or a fix timeline.

The reports span multiple browsers and computers, Android Authority said. Affected accounts still work in YouTube's mobile and TV apps, according to the report.

A Reddit user said clearing cookies, switching browsers, using Incognito mode, changing passwords, and even trying another computer made no difference. Their affected accounts still worked in YouTube's mobile app, the report said.

The browser sign-in complaints follow YouTube's recent fix for a separate login bug that locked some viewers out on TVs and gaming consoles. Android Authority reported that while that problem was getting attention, another sign-in headache appears to have been quietly frustrating a much smaller group of YouTube users on the web.
