Cramer Calls GE Vernova a Buy, Sets Roughly $96 Level for Kimberly-Clark

Cramer named GE Vernova a buy, citing Microsoft's plan to triple computing power, and set roughly $96 as a level for Kimberly-Clark.

The calls came during the CNBC Investing Club with Jim Cramer's "Morning Meeting" livestream, which the network holds each weekday at 10:20 a.m. ET. GE Vernova shares were up 3% at around $952, according to CNBC, while Kimberly-Clark traded modestly lower at about $98.

Cramer wrote in his Top 10 morning newsletter that Microsoft's expansion will benefit GE Vernova, which he said plays a critical role in the data center buildout. A Bloomberg report cited in that newsletter said the hyperscaler plans to triple its computing power to around 38 gigawatts in 2032. GE Vernova makes natural gas turbines used to create off-grid energy to power AI infrastructure. "I love this stock and I would buy more right here," Cramer said on the Morning Meeting.

The broader market rose, with the S&P 500 up about 1% on Friday after four consecutive days of declines. Oil prices retreated, leading to lower bond yields, which Cramer's team said helped. The August consumer price index came in line with expectations but remained elevated. "The market seems to think we're going to get that rate hike next week," club portfolio director Jeff Marks said during the livestream. According to the CME FedWatch tool, the odds of an interest rate hike following the Federal Reserve's Sept. 15-16 meeting moved up to around 87%, compared with less than 50% a month earlier.

On Kimberly-Clark, Cramer said that if the stock were to drop a bit lower to "maybe $96," the club would buy more. Both Cramer and Marks pointed to the Cottonelle and Huggies maker's 5.2% dividend yield. "That yield would look more attractive if rates were lower because there's always a competition there [from bonds]," Marks said, adding that the company still has work to do, including weakness in China. "They do sound very excited about the Kenvue," Marks said. The deal for the Band-Aid and Tylenol company is expected to close before the end of the year.

At the end of Friday's video, the club's rapid fire covered Oracle, Adobe, Kroger and RH. Cramer's Charitable Trust is long KMB, GEV and MSFT, CNBC disclosed.
