Neocloud Stocks Fall After Musk Warns of 'Guppy-Level Death'

Nebius, CoreWeave and Iren fell over 4% premarket after Musk warned 200+ neoclouds could collapse, CNBC reported.

Nebius, CoreWeave and Iren each dropped more than 4% in premarket trading. The move added pressure to a sector already facing investor concerns about debt-fueled expansion and whether the large buildout of AI infrastructure will generate returns.

Musk made the comment in a post on X on Sunday. “As of the past few weeks, debt markets have almost entirely shut off access to money for any company that doesn’t have substantial revenue independent of AI data centers,” he wrote.

He added: “That means the 200+ neoclouds are going to see guppy-level death and consolidation. Some will make it through, but not many.”

CNBC said further details would follow.
