TechRadar Posts October 28 Solutions for Quordle, Strands and Connections
TechRadar published hints and answers for Quordle game #1738, NYT Strands game #969 and NYT Connections game #1235 on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
For Connections #1235, the sixteen words were CURIOSITY, ROUT, SUBJECT, ATTRACTION, ATTACHMENT, SPIRIT, BODY, COARSE, CRUSH, WEIGH, SIGNATURE, INTEREST, RODE, OPPORTUNITY, FEELINGS and PERSEVERANCE. The yellow group, romantic liking, was ATTRACTION, CRUSH, FEELINGS and INTEREST. Green, components of an email, was ATTACHMENT, BODY, SIGNATURE and SUBJECT. Blue, NASA Mars rovers, was CURIOSITY, OPPORTUNITY, PERSEVERANCE and SPIRIT. Purple, homophones of paths, was COARSE, RODE, ROUT and WEIGH. TechRadar's reviewer rated the puzzle easy and recorded a perfect score, writing that the email components were easier to link than the rover names. The game allows up to four mistakes and grades its four groups from green as the easiest to purple as the hardest.
Strands #969 carried the theme "Comedy club". The answers were FARCE, SKETCH, IMPROV, SLAPSTICK and BURLESQUE, alongside the spangram FUNNYBUSINESS, which has 13 letters and runs from the bottom row's fifth column to the top row's second column. TechRadar listed CHESS, TEAK, SKIN, SCRUB, NECK and PLATE as clue words that unlock the in-game hint system. The reviewer rated the puzzle easy and again recorded a perfect score.
Quordle #1738 came with five hints. The four answers together contain four different standard vowels, counting A, E, I, O and U but not Y; exactly one answer contains a repeated letter; none of Q, Z, X or J appears in any answer; and no two answers begin with the same letter. The starting letters were given as D, F, S and R. The answers were DEALT, FLUME, SLEEK and RELIC. The Daily Sequence for the same day was SLOTH, RALPH, DELAY and FIXER. TechRadar's writer said two anagrams came quickly with the starting words, then chose K over P for a word deduced to begin S-L-E-E and rejected plume in favour of FLUME for the last answer.
Quordle, one of the early alternatives to Wordle, has now run past 1,500 daily games. Strands sits alongside Wordle, Spelling Bee and Connections in the New York Times games lineup and has been running for a year. Both Strands and Connections are playable free through the NYT Games site on desktop and mobile.
