TechRadar Reviews Cloaked Data-Removal Suite: Full Features, No Free Trial
TechRadar reviews Cloaked, a data-removal and security suite with VPN, dark-web monitoring and spam blocking, but no free trial and fewer broker sites.
TechRadar reported that individuals pay $12.49 per month or $120 annually, equivalent to $10 per month. The Couple plan costs $19.99 per month for two users, or $175 annually. The Family plan costs $30 per month for four users, or $300 annually, equivalent to $25 per month. Every plan unlocks the full feature set, with the difference limited to the number of users covered. TechRadar said the pricing is slightly lower than many competitors and that Cloaked’s pricing system is not differentiated by features.
Cloaked does not offer a free trial, which TechRadar called a disadvantage. The service previously offered a 14-day free trial, but that is no longer available. Customers have a 30-day window to request a refund if they are not satisfied. The review also cited the lack of a free version as a limitation. Cloaked does offer a free scan of a phone number to show what information linked to that number is already on the web.
Setup is straightforward, according to the review. Users visit Cloaked.com, click Get Started in the top-right corner, choose Log In or Buy Now, select a pricing plan and proceed to checkout. After payment, the software can be used.
The core service removes data from people-finder sites. Users enter a name, address or phone number, and Cloaked scans popular data broker sites where that data appears. If the data is found, Cloaked sends automated deletion requests to the sites. When automated requests are not enough, Cloaked’s team sends manual deletion requests on the user’s behalf.
Cloaked also provides dark-web monitoring for personal data such as passwords and Social Security numbers and alerts users immediately if a leak is detected. Call Guard blocks spam and robocalls on Android and iOS smartphones by checking incoming calls against a list of numbers associated with spam and robocalls. A VPN encrypts online browsing activity and routes traffic through virtual servers, and a password manager stores and retrieves passwords. TechRadar said these features are offered under a single subscription and that the bundle offers good value because people normally pay separately for a VPN, a spam-call blocker and a data-removal service.
TechRadar’s verdict said Cloaked has a comprehensive feature set, proactive monitoring and competitive pricing. It listed limited broker coverage and no free trial among the reasons to avoid the service. The review said Cloaked’s deletion requests cover more than 120 people-finder sites, while some rivals cover a much larger number. It said Cloaked offers broader features than most competitors but could improve on that criterion.
Editor's Summary Cloaked combines data removal, dark-web monitoring, call blocking, a VPN and a password manager in one subscription, with plans for individuals, couples and families and no free trial. TechRadar said the suite is competitively priced and feature-rich, but its coverage of more than 120 people-finder sites trails some rivals. The review also cited the absence of a free version and free trial as limitations.
