Samsung confirms fix for Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 VO2 Max track-running bug
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 fails to show VO2 Max for track runs; Samsung confirms a fix is coming.
Android Authority reported Oct. 27 that a user on the Samsung Community forums shared screenshots showing no VO2 Max reading after a track-running session. The Samsung Health app displayed an error saying the user had not run for at least 10 minutes at speeds of 4 km/h or more in an area with good GPS signal, according to a translation of the screenshot. But data in the screenshots showed the user ran for more than 10 minutes at speeds well above 4 km/h, and the user said the GPS signal was not spotty.
The same user’s outdoor running logs did show VO2 Max values calculated by the watch, indicating the problem is tied to track-running sessions rather than VO2 Max measurement generally. A moderator responded to the user’s post, saying Samsung developers had confirmed the issue and expected to resolve it with a future software update. The moderator did not provide an estimated timeline for the update.
